Pixels

What are Pixels?
Pixel means the pictures element. Every image is made up of the smallest pixels. In every pixels holds an information of that can make up the picture. They usually used in 2-dimelsional pictures.

Resolution:
Resolution is made up of pixels that are arranged in way to make a certain quality. The quality can be seen on how the pixels are set. For example they placed in width to height, as 1920x1080. This mean there 1,920 pixels on the width and 1,080 on the height. So there is a total of 2,073,600 pixels in that resolution.

Colour Information:
Each distinct colour can be represented by certain amount of pixels. These pixel get split up into three groups; Red, Green and Blue. Or four comments used in CMYK; Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, black.

File Extensions:
File Extensions can be useful as it can help to be used in a certain type of operating system (like Mac, Microsoft and etc). When there is file extension, they usually are up to three or four characters. For example “Regedit.exe.” that it has “exe” showing what type of extension it is.

Compression:
Compression is the reduction of bit to make some space for data. Compression can save storage space for other use, also can be used to make it easier to transfer file. Because less data needs to be transferred. This also can have a risk of loss of qu
ality in the file.

Lossless and Lossy compressions:
Lossless compressions can reducing the size of the memory, without losing data. Also being able to recover the original uncompressed file. Lossess compression is generally used in spreadsheet, text and GIFs.
On the other hand lossy compression can remove useless and redundant information when compressing the file, which will save a lot more memory. But permanently leaving how it is. This is used in videos, JPEG and photographs.

Optimising:
Optimising is usually used to change settings to make the programme to work more efficient and more effective. This can drastically change the performance of the programme, it can also lower it quality, as it is being optimised for it.

Storage Image assets
The image file size the normal way to store and organise digital graphics. They are made of either vector data, pixels, or a mixture of both. The image file size is shown in bytes. The great the image resolution, greater the rows and columns will have greater file size.

This can be laid out in the most common image format. That is TIFF, JPEG, and GIFF. However, TIFF can't be used on internet browsers.
